Art education has been an important part of my life since childhood. I always knew I wanted to have a career in art and I was fortunate to become an educator. Teaching allows me to share my love of all the disciplines of art I studied as a studio art major in undergraduate school at Winthrop University. My teacher preparation was in my hometown at the University of South Carolina. Upon earning my master's degree, I took the train to Maryland for my first and only interview with MCPS and was offered a job the very same day. It was my destiny and I have taught art from elementary through high school. Outside of school, I never tire of art and enjoy creating personal works, taking art classes, and visiting museums.
